Terms of Use — BikeShop
Draft, pending review. This text was prepared from the operator's legal templates and has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer or by BFH. It may change before it is final.
Version: draft of 3 November 2026 · Operated by: BFH | W | AIRS lab, Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH) · Contact: julius.kooistra@bfh.ch
1. A demo, not a shop
BikeShop is a teaching demo of the BFH Business School. The bike shop is fictional:
- No bike is really rented, reserved or sold, and nothing is delivered.
- No payments are taken. Prices are shown and recorded only as part of the example.
- "API tokens" are play money for the demo: buying them costs nothing.
A booking or reservation in BikeShop creates no contract and no claim to a bike.
2. Your account
- You are responsible for your password and for what is done with your account and your API keys. Keep keys secret and revoke those you no longer need.
- Use your own email address, or one ending in
.test(never sent). - Don't enter more personal data than the forms ask for, and nothing sensitive.
3. Acceptable use
Use BikeShop for learning and trying things out. Do not:
- try to access other people's accounts or data, or staff functions you were not given;
- overload the service or work around its rate limits;
- use it for anything unlawful.
Security findings are welcome: please report them to julius.kooistra@bfh.ch rather than exploit them.
4. Availability and data
The demo is provided as is, without any guarantee of availability. It may be changed, reset (including its database) or switched off at any time.
5. Liability
As far as the law allows, BFH accepts no liability for the demo or its availability. Liability for intent or gross negligence is not excluded.
6. Changes and law
We may update these terms; the current version is posted here with its date. Swiss law applies.
